Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Distillery: Dalwhinnie
Type: Single Malt
Flavor: Unpeated
Notes: It may be chilly outside, but with this dram, it’s warm as can be. This Winter’s Gold from Dalwhinnie smells at first of apples, pears, a touch of banana and even a splash of champagne. Tasting this Highland malt brings out oak, raisins, and even the slightest hint of sweet white wine. This could be a good whisky for wine drinkers, I’d say. Taste it after a bite of hazelnut chocolate and it cuts a bit of the sharpness on the finish, making it a much smoother drink.
